    this is not the 'ayyappa temple' butit is a pond very near to the ayyapa temple. in local language pond means chira. ie from this chira(pond)this locality is called vellanchira.so the title given as 'vellanchira ayyappa temple' may corrected as 'pond at vellanchira'.
